Hi all,
I'm thinking of joining slimming world and i was wondering if it's possible to just go to the first couple of sessions and then continue it at home without attending again. The reason i want to do this is that i can't get to the day sessions as i have my daughter with me and hubby works shifts so i wouldn't be able to attend the evening sessions reguarly either. I looked into joining online but it's a lot to pay out at once and i'd rather try it for a couple of weeks and see if it works first!

I don't know if you would be able to attend just a couple of sessions (I don't see why not - they're not going to come to your house and march you to the group!!!) but could you get the Slimming World Magazine? This has a lot of help, advice and recipes and also a 7 day meal plan for you to follow. You could follow this plan for a week to see what you think? Its only £2.95 too, which is good value I think.
Im not sure if its allowed or approved of but you can buy SW starter packs on Ebay too which will cost you a lot less than having to join online. However, its probably still cheaper to attend a couple of sessions at your local group.0 -
Ive been doing slimming world for about 13 weeks now and i think its great, it find it really helps to stay to group but if you cant you cold join so you get the starter pack and the group leader will go through all the different plans with you properly then as beachbeth says you could then buy the magazine.
From what ive heard the starter packs go for well over the odds at ebay, the one thing youd be missing out on was the password you need to get every week from your leader to access the members only online service, i find this really really useful and use it alot to work out syns.
You could always take your daughter to group with you or you could tell your leader that you work the shifts then as long as you inform your leader you wont be charged for the weeks you miss as its for your shifts as there are members at my group that do both of these x
eta theres also a great thread on here that you can gets loads of info and support from xxMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
Did you go along to your local class in the end, Headcrash? Ive been wondering how you got on!0

Sorry meant to reply earlier but had a busy few days! I'm going to go on Tuesday, i should be able to go two weeks out of every three so hopefully it won't be a problem. I'm really looking forward to it actually and hopefully i'll be able to finally get into shape!0 -
Hi headcrash
I have a friend at work who does Slimming World on line & it's working for her. She finds it really easy to follow & to stick to.
She lost a stone in 4 weeks to begin with & although it's slowed down she's still losing a regular 2lbs a week.0
