With all of Fifa's loud talking of fair play football, what will they have to say about that?

I'd like to see Suarez miss the final as well if they go further and miss a chance of a winner/loser's medal. That would be a fair penalty. Won't happen though.

I wonder if the whole of Africa will now cheer the other Boateng.

No. Even Suarez admitted he couldn't head the ball so he made the decision to use his hand to stop the ball. If he had any honor then he would have jumped, he would have missed and the better team would have gone through.

Fine, Ghana shouldn't have missed all their penalties but there was no way Gyan would have scored. The weight of the entire African continent was on that foot. No one should have that pressure on them.

With all of Fifa's loud talking of fair play football, what will they have to say about that?
no you can't excuse Gyan's lack of technique to fail to define his shot from 9 meters. he just wasn't good enough.

why are golfers able to put at each hole under pressure but footballers find it hard to score penalties. the answer is lack of mental strength and mental training...

Why should he miss the final, he has received the defined punishment?
He probably will though, more due to Blatter only being in power due to the African vote.
CNN reported that Farah Addo, a senior official with the African Football Association (CAF), had allegedly been offered US$100,000 to vote for Blatter – although he’d refused the offer, Addo claimed, “eighteen African voters accepted bribes…”

I think it is something that should be looked at. It was blatant and while I understand that Alan Shearer et al said that they would do the same in that situation, would do the same knowing that the penalty they would pay would be substantially higher?

It is simple the ref should be allowed to award a penalty goal but then again we should have goal line video evidence, it is the rule makers that are to blame (as usual).

Intruigingly, this event occurred the day before FIFA's Fair Play day...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
