any brummies out there?
i need to know how far away the nia is from birmingham new street station.
in particular, is it a walkable distance, and suitable for a wheelchair?
also if anyone has any experience of disabled access to the nia, i'd like to know how you found it.
many thanks

Hi,
It is walkable, but not a short distance by any means. I would say a taxi ride would be a better choice if a wheelchair user is trying to get there.
Disabled access in the nia seems to be ok from what i have seen when I have attended various events, though not being disabled I might not pick up on those little things that can be so annoying.

I am sure the last time I got a taxi it was about a fiver from New Street. Above is info from the NIA website about their disability access. It's not minutes as the website says, more like a good 15 min walk for me pushing a buggy.

its not a short walk at all, i play football at the nia twice a week and have done for 3 years.
a taxi is a must really (15 mins is pushing it, more like 30 mins!)
disabled access seems good from what i remember, as i enter via the car park, its all i can comment on, but there seems to be ramps before doors and lifts inside, cant see you having any problems really
