Overbed table - where can i buy a cheap one?

Options
Hi, hoping someone can help me. I want to buy an overbed table, a modern looking one would be great. it is to go over my 3 year olds bed to try to encourage him into bed at night with a few toys on it:confused: . Thanks in advance

  • You would be better off trying to get them to bed without the toys! It is hard but oh so worth it! I have a 4 year old with ADHD - absolute nightmare by day but I have cracked bedtime by rigid routine and sticking my ground...it really is worth the effort! Until a child realises that bed is for sleep they will always have bedtime issues.
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)
  • Thanks for your reply. You must have more strength and willpower than me. I am no good with routine and get really tired at night that I can't be bothered to argue with him. Maybe i will give it a go when the kids go back to school.

  • Have you thought about making one yourself? It would really only need to be made of MDF then you could paint it and stick your sons favourite characters on etc... B&Q will cut the wood to size for you, so you'd just need to screw it togther and add castors etc

I hope you do give it a try .. you know there will be support here for you if you need it! If you get organised and get into a routine, you will not be as tired as you will have some time when your little one is sleeping! Believe me..when my daughter goes to bed the whole family sits down ..and sighs! I did the same as you with my first child - the difference this time round has been worth the tears and trauma. It only takes about a week if you set a goal and stick to it. (not a nice week:eek: )Good luck!

Hi 3kidsnomoney, playing at bedtime is not your answer. Try making the room dark with a blanket over the window and when your child gets out of bed take them streight back without to much talking. After the first bad week things will change for the better.:A Good Luck...
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
  • FOUND ONE, BEEN TO A CAR BOOT THIS MORNING AND PICKED ONE UP FOR £3. MY SON HAS A VERY TINY BEDROOM SO AT LEAST HE CAN SIT ON HIS BED AND DO JIGSAWS. REALISE PLAYING AT BEDTIME IS NOT THE BEST IDEA BUT ANYTHING IS WORTH A TRY! :rotfl:
