    * The £6.00 a month is for my dentist - this does not fall under free medical. There are very few NHS dentists near me.

There is only one dentist in our village and he is private but he does NHS for pregnant ladies up to the child is one year old. It is worth asking your local dentists if they do similar.

It sounds like you need to sit down with your blokey and both go through your finances to see where you can save some cash to repay the debts. Does your bf have debts as well?

No, my boyfriend does not and never has had debts - he's a sensible and lucky sod! He does know how much I owe but I guess he thinks I'm managing. I better have a chat, but I know he can't afford to lend me money for this month, so I still don't know how I am going to pay anything this month!

Please note that I live with my boyfriend and we have a joint mortgage. I have not added my boyfriend's details and have left out our mortgage payments. This is because I am currently giving him £250.00 towards the mortgage etc whilst I am on maternity leave - this is listed as 'rent'. He pays for the rest of the bills/food etc. I will be going back to work in October, when my position will change. However, I need help now with my current situation.

    Thanks!

Surely there should be something in there for tax credits? I can only see child benefit. Upto the age of 1 year old you should be getting approximately £100 per month for your child. Have you not contacted them?

Thought you could not get tax credits unless you are working? I don't class maternity leave as working.

Just checked they ask questions about 2009-2010 tax year but our income was too high for most of that year up to March.

If you ring up the tax credits, they will base your tax credits on this years earning potential; I was on maternity leave and got tax credits! You get them for the child; I am not saying claim working tax credits but CHILD TAX CREDITS. You get child tax credits if you are on the dole or claiming income support. Phone them up! Unless you earn in excess of £60k per annum, you will be entitled.
