First time on this specific forum, so apologies where no doubt this is covered elsewhere.
Quandry-my wife wishes to provide her employer with notice of leaving her part time job;but can't find original job offer letter specifying notice period.
it is a part time job -commenced 2nd feb 2010 and two days a week plus one in four sats. Two weeks ago was reduced to one day a week, plus the one in four sats.
My wife wishes to resign and provide the shortest possible notice period' but as stated-can't locate original offer letter specifying notice terms.
Is there an overiding law which designates what the minimum notice she needs to provide in this instance ?
(also-how many holiday days will she have accrued ?
Many thanks for hoped for advice

Contract would override the statutory minimum.
Statutory minimum would be one week. If she really can't find the original documentation but believes that the notice period was included in this, then why not give a week's notice and see if the employer objects.0 -
Because the hours vary from week to week, it is easier to work out on hours. So take the number of hours which will have been worked since 2 February and multiply by 0.1207 to find out how many hours paid holiday would be due. Obviously you need to deduct any holiday (perhaps bank holidays?) which will have been paid before termination.it is a part time job -commenced 2nd feb 2010 and two days a week plus one in four sats. Two weeks ago was reduced to one day a week, plus the one in four sats.
