MBNA have accepted offer!

After months of phone calls on a daily sometimes 2 or 3 times a day basis and 2 default notice letters I have had a letter from MBNA today. They are willing to accept my offer of £186 per month (not far short of my monthly payment on what was a £11,000 credit card bill before they added all the charges). They have also said that they will inform the credit reference agencies I am up to date (slightly bizarre after the defaults).

What worries me though is that they say they must have payment by 7th of each month which would be fine if I made the payments to them myself. But they have had a payment from the CCCS today and will get the next one on 25th Sept.

I am wondering if I should ask CCCS if I can take back my own payments as I am enjoying the peace and quiet! :T :j

I think its worth a try asking the cccs, at the least you should tell them about the letter from MBNA. They should be able to advise you what to do.

Yes I will do that on monday anyway, but just wondering how others manage this whole thing between the date the CCCS pay and the date creditors expect their money.

Thanks Choclover for your response :)

  • I think all the credit card companies know that the CCCS pay around the 25th of the month but won't automatically change their payment due date
. You may need to write to MBNA just confirming that payment will be made by the CCCS on the 25th and asking them to adjust the payment due date their end.
If they give you any grief you can then forward any correspondence to the CCCS for them to deal with.
