Take home the history of the World Cup on DVD

Enjoy 70 years of footballing history with a free official FIFA World Cup DVD available exclusively to readers of the Telegraph every day from Saturday, June 5, 2010.

Each film explores the best moments of the great game from Uruguay in 1930 through to Germany in 2006 and are the official DVDs released by FIFA.

Beside the main film of each DVD, FIFA has added some extras, such as top goals and statistics to make every film a superb show. Also, enjoy biographies from stars such as Maradona, Pele, Zidane, Ronaldo and many more.

On Monday, June 7, pick up your free FIFA World Cup DVD: Italy 1990 and Mexico 1986 at WH Smith and Ladbrokes

    Italy 1990

The 1990 FIFA World Cup, was Germany's come-back. The 14th staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in Italy, the second country to host the event twice. It was won by West Germany, who beat Argentina 1–0 in the final to win the World Cup for the third time.

Widely regarded as one of the most frustrating World Cups ever, most teams relied heavily on defensive play and hard tackling, as well as aggressive intimidation of the referee. In the knockout stage, many teams would "play it safe" for 120 minutes and try their luck in the penalty shoot-out, rather than play the high-risk game.

    Mexico 1986

Mexico had just recovered from a devastating earthquake when it stepped in to host the 1986 FIFA World Cup after Columbia had to pull out due to internal conflict. An epic quarter final with England was graced with the greatest FIFA World Cup goal ever from Maradona, not to mention the most controversial goal as well.

France and West Germany staged another epic semi-final re-run of 1982, with the Germans perhaps leaving their best performance a round too early. Maradona's Argentina were waiting for them in the final.
