Clubseasons - Is it a con???

Ahhhhh!! Don't know whether my luck has finally changed or whether I'm being sucked in! Please help!! Yesterday I received a recorded delivery advising that I have won a prize worth £2950 from Clubseasons. I phoned today to check it out and it seems I have won free membership with this company via Myoffers website - a competition I do remember entering admittedly! Only catch is that I have to pay approx £320 per annum for management charges?? I tend to be a bit niave at times & so I must admit I was quite excited by the prospect when I visited their website! My partner, on the other hand, is convinced we should stay clear as it's a take on! Has anyone else had any involvement with this company? Any advice or info would be great!

Any prize you win should not involve ANY kind of pre payment, or cost, be weary of it.

    Hi,

I had this, I ignored it, this is not a prize, a prize is free by definition so just ignore it, it's an awful lot of money for something you've won. Trading Standards would undoubtedly say to ignore it.

    Hope this helps,

This happened to me about 6 weeks . I think I entered the competition.
I do not think its a con but it is a timeshare. You will be paying the £320 for one weeks accomodation but you will have to pay for flights plus if you want two weeks you may have to transfer somewhere else.
Also you can only stay where they have apartments and often what you want is not available when you want it.
    Lots to think about.

Have a look at this thread, dustersshadow:

    Think it says it all.
  • I also won this prize about a year ago and was also told I had to pay £320 per annum for maintenance, when I looked at the places and cost of flights it worked out cheaper to book a package holiday.

Considering that the prize was stated as "FREE holidays for life" it is very misleading!!!

  • Thanks so much folks - think you've helped make my mind up! Reckon I'll wait for the 'free' prize to come along! If I'd wanted a timeshare I could have signed up for one without having it dressed up as a would-be freebie I reckon!! Nice one : - )

we also 'won' this item a couple of weeks ago, we're not entering into it, i prefer to go on holiday where i want, when i want! It also doesnt look child friendly! seems alot of people have 'won' this item!!!
  • Ok then - I accept that a "prize" is perceived to be completely free, but......consider this: Family of four, staying in a 4* hotel (and to compare the accommodation in question, to anything less is belligerent at best) will cost (in rural England) no less than 75 Pounds per night (although in our own village it's 110 per night for _the_ family room). 75 x 7 = 525.
Luxury accommodation, every year, for life. If you only ever use it in the UK and compare current alternative pricing, you will have saved the neck end of 200 quid. You cannot compare an Hotel to this offer, but if you did, you would have to pay twice the average (per week) maintenance fee, PER NIGHT, let alone a week.
I'd call it a prize worth its weight in gold - because if you want to run the risk of being a 'terror victim', go ahead - spend your 2 grand for a poxy holiday in Spain or Greece, where the 18-30 club has already succeeded in proving that all things British should be avoided.
