Selling your winnings - does anyone do this?

Hi All, I am a big compo player, but generally I only play in the comps where I want the prize. There have been a few times I have won things that I haven't needed or wanted, or are duplicates (when going for another prize).

Over the last week I have sold some wins on ebay:

£10.50 earned for a £25 Wahanda.com voucher
£12 for an Adidas Jabaluni World Cup Replica football
£5 for a 2009 Mini Emblem Collectible Coin

I never thought any of these would sell!

So now I have switched tactic on the compos and now play them all regardless of the prize :D

So my question is, do you play competitions and do you sell your wins?

I'm a huge comper and fortunately do very well out them:DI only enter the ones I want to win but have no problem with people running a side line based on winnings, I recently won a face cream worth £210:eek:I did want the cream but the mse person inside me says sell it as no matter how good it is I would never pay that for a cream, I'm really torn but on this occasion will probably sell it, I know of people who run a market stall each week based mainly on winnings.
Thank you for this site Martin

MSE is better I find cos we give the answers too;)Lots of people use both sites I believe but I just use MSE to save dupes and there simply isnt enough time for me to do both - good luck:)

  • Never really thought of doing competitions as a way to get extra money in, not a bad idea but I would of thought quiet time consuming.

:oSorry for bumping...I'm a keen comper too.

I fallen really behind since last year because of studying and lack of time, but i have won afew small prizes...make-up, etc.

If i don't use them, i see no reason to not sell them.
But...ebay, i'm a complete beginner, and find it too complicated with the fees, aswell as the fees for paypal...would not know where to start.
I'd be interested in knowing any similar sites you mght use to sell winnings.

Also, the most expensive prize i have won is a £50 itunes voucher...which is of no use to me, as I don't have an ipod, and have no clue about anyone who does have one.
Anyway, it says not for resale at the back of it, so what would you all recommend that i do with it?

    many thanks.

Check out the ebay board on here - that will give you lots of useful tips. If you dont want to sell it on ebay then you can always pop over to HotDealsUK - they allow you to sell items on the boards over there.
