Night time hand cream

After turning 40 last weekend  I have decided that I really must start taking proper care of my skin. I've always been good with my face plus I'm super lucky gene-wise, my mum is 62 and has NO wrinkles!! :j :T
However, I work as a housekeeper to the rich and lazy and am finding that my hands are starting to look their age, can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive overnight hand treatment? I use Neutrogena during the day but perhaps something nourishing at night would be nice. My poor hands work hard and deserve a treat!!!

The best "hard-working" hand cream I've used is L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream but it's not cheap - £16.50 a tube . You could try shea butter on it's own and wear those white cotton gloves overnight so it soaks in.0

I use a mixture of cocoa butter and almond oil, works well for me. Good for nails too.0

Part of my job is the same as yours plus I am outdoors a lot with my animals and my hands take a lot of damage. I am 40 ish too and after trying many intensive hand creams by far the best is the Body Shops Almond Oil hand rescue treatment. A 100ml pot is about £6 pounds if memory serves me right? It lasts a very long time and is excellent. Hope this helps.Returning member as system did not know me anymore

I agree with this but also like Soap and Glory hand cream and Body Shop Hemp hand cream.0 -
The Neutrogena is a good one for protecting your hands and it sounds like your doing the right thing at work, have you tried looking for something with vitamin E in it? this is good for helping skin. Also something with Lavender in could be calming at night.
If its any help I use Dream Cream by Lush on my hands and it seems to be fine, its a mild cream wich sinks in really well and my skin seems to like it!
For anti-aging you can plump the skin, but cannot stop the aging process within yourself, what you could do is try to prevent it from being sped up by exterior things such as the sun (so wearing SPF on your hands in the day, remebering to reapply if you wash your hands or wearing waterproof gloves), staying clear of things like cigarette smoke, eating things like oily fish and nuts which have skin beneficial properties in (and steering clear of too much salt which can promote skin drying) and if possible, adding a little moisturiser before putting on gloves to do things like washing up. Your hands get a sort of hand sauna when the hot water warms the inside of the gloves and cream.0 -

This isn't a night cream but it is a very nice consistency. I am going to stock up whilst they are are on offer.
In the past I have used Body Shop hemp hand cream but I hated the smell!
Healthspan Nurture do have a money back guarantee - generally aimed, I would think at facial products so if the product disagrees with you then you just return it. No doubt it applies to the handcream too.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
