Can you PM Herbie21? Right click on her user name and select send PM.

She also runs www bailiff advice online co uk (I think it is against the rules to post the link), there is a contact number on there (it is 60p a minute), but you may get an answer today.

    Hello

I'm new to the site and can't work out how to start a thread so was hoping someone would be able to help me here as it is a similar problem with the same people.

I had an arrangement with Equita to pay off a debt of of £850, we now only owe £320 but following a missed payment, they have now passed the debt on to their bailiffs. Luckily we weren't in when he originally called round but he did put a letter through our door telling us that he had been round. He levied on my sisters car which was parked on the drive. He also added a fee of £192 including VAT to the original amount.
I had called Equita that day and they had said they could no longer do anything about it as it had been passed across and they were just the call centre.

I have written a letter based on some of the templates on here stating that I wanted a break down of the fees, that I would only correspond in writing to them and that I would not answer the door to anybody who came round. We just wanted to set up another payment plan.

They have sent a letter back today stating that they would not set up another plan for us and that (Removed by Forum Team) was the Bailiff in charge of our case and he would be round to levy goods from us within 2 weeks. They added that in some cases they could remove goods without us being present. They also have not given us a breakdown of the costs as we had originally asked.

Could anyone please advise us on what we should do next. I will write another letter back to them to again ask for the breakdown of where this £192 comes from as I'm sure they can only charge £45 for the first visit.
Also how many times are they likely to come round if they can only charge for 2 visits, as I've read somewhere.

Thanks to anyone who can advise me on what to do next.
