Having a clear out - again!

I am just learning that it maybe best to stick to what suits you. I had a clear out when I moved into this flat which was needed, got rid of clothes that no longer suited me or was getting shabby so come the spring I had a good spending spree to refill my wardrobe.
I usually go for black, white, lemon, beige and such colours but decided to go for some blues and purples and other colours. Now I feel these things don't suit me and I just want back my wardrobe of basics that I had before which I could mix and match.
One of my friends could use some of the stuff, other than that its the charity shop again, who are really going to love me now for keeping them stocked up.
I feel it is such a waste but isn't it silly to hold onto mistaker purchases?

If you're absolutely certain that you won't wear them then It's best to chalk it up to experience and let them go. Sometimes I find that I go off colours at certain times of year. I can't seem to force myself to wear burgundy in the summer and won't wear yellow in the winter.

Well done for experimenting though. There's a fine line between sticking to what suits us and being stuck in a rut, so it's good to try some new things out once in a while.
One of my friends wore loads of red, black and chocolate for decades, now every time I see her she's in a different bright colour - cobalt blue, jade green, hot pink! It really suits her - but so did her previous formula. (It was just a bit "samey".)
Perhaps you could hold onto just one or two items in "different" colours for when you're in an adventurous mood?0 -

Absolutely - I have just had a mammoth clear out as nothing else would fit in the wardrobe
. I found a load of evening wear that I had bought because I needed something to wear at short notice but in the end had never worn - some of it still had the tags on.
If you feel bad about it you could always try eBay but having made my mind up to get rid of some old favourites (a nice purple Liz Claiborne suit for one) I needed it out of the house as quickly as possible so to the charity shop it went.0
