Daughter Going To Be 18 - Gift Ideas

Hi My beautiul daughter is going to be 18 this August. I am going to give her a box with 18 things in. I would like to try and tie the gifts up with one for each of the years in her life. Can you good people give me some ideas for the gifts please. I have already thought of baby rattle and a letter from the tooth fairy - dont want to give too much away in case she comes on here lol x

How about a copy of her exam results or something like that for the 16th year if she did particularly well or a photo album with pictures of all her old high school friends?

Similarly, you could do this for her primary school friends too.

What I lovely idea! Maybe the best way to start would be to look at old photos and ask friends family to help and find one for each year. That way you could put in album and maybe right a note or funny story about what happened at that age. Like this is you with your favorite toy aged 2 or your favorite game at aunty so and so was running around the garden with your cousin.

Then maybe you will have enough clues to add a few gifts too?

-Favourite film (aparently I watched Dirty Dancing EVERY day after school when I was too youing to really understand what it was but I loved the dancing hahaha)
-Favourite holiday/first holiday abroad/memorable holiday (for me personally first time I went to Florida would be a good one!)
-When they got a pet?
-Did they have any siblings born after them? (Maybe assosiate a funny story with this if there is one)
-Does she have any hobbies? Dancing, singing, acting, Guides, sports etc Maybe something associated with these? Did they win a medal or do a show?
-Did they have a childhood boyfriend? (You know the oen where your like 5 and hold hands everywhere and tell everyone you will get married but your not going to kiss cause boys have germs hahaha)
-Starting primary school
-Starting secondary school
-Starting college
-Did they ever have a memorable birthday party?

hmm I think thats my brain exhausted of ideas now! Its a great idea you have, Ive never heard of anyone doing it before, I bet your daughter will love it!

Oh Maybe for the 18th Year(ie final one) it could be a lovely photo album with some pictures already in of her life so far and lots of blank pages for her to continue to record important moments in the rest of her life.

Thank you so much for your great ideas. I love the film and the sweets. I used to buy a 10p mixture bag when she was little - not for her for me! I didnt want her to have rotton teeth lol x I will start looking at the photos I have, when she was 16 I did a This is your life kind of book. Thank you - I love doing homemade gifts for special birthdays.
