Can anyone help me with ideas to make/sew a holder for this?

Hello all!
Really long story but soon I am going to start wearing this which will be attached by a fine tube to either my tummy, leg or arm. I have a lot of dresses so would ideally like to attach it somewhere so I can still wear my dresses- perhaps my leg or on my arm. I would really like some ideas on how to go about making a holder for it. I was thinking a simple box bag big enough to hold it, secured with a button and something to attach it to my leg/arm. What do you think? Anyone have any ideas on what would be the best way to attach it? Perhaps a piece or elastic or a velcro strap? I am not sure!
TIA

It looks quite wee, so could you make several little pockets that you sew directly onto the dresses - either similar or contrasting fabrics. If you're careful, you can remove the pocket once you no longer need the pump (or will you need it permanently?).
Alternatively, you could make a little across the body bag, out of denim, or similar.
Good luck with your treatment :T:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
I think maybe a velcro strap would be better. That way you can adjust it if need be. I find that with elastic, in order to have it tight enough to hold something in place, it tends to dig in after a while.
The box bag idea sounds good though.0 -
so do you want to hide it somewhere on your body, so no-one would know you are wearing it? or just as a means of carrying it?
if the latter, then something like the wiggly bags they use for chemo might be a starting place for a pattern

How about something like this:

I know it's a bit expensive at a tenner but I'm sure you can get somethingf similar a bit cheaper.0 -
Thanks everyone! I would prefer for it not to be a huge statement fashion piece lol, but flea what is a wiggly bag? I may have to take a look at it. I like the idea of the pockets and phone holder thingies. It's all a bit weird and scary at the moment so have no idea what to do about it.
The other thing is, I will need access to it so I was thinking maybe if I put a pocket on my dresses I would also need a hole in the dress to poke out the tube?Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Is it heavy?? if not, why not make something that will clip to your panties. i think I would knit/sew a small bag with a kilt pin attached to the top, that way you could just pin it to whatever you were wearing and no-one would be any the wiser.

Assuming the pump is for asthma medication (I was assessed for one - but am not brittle asthmatic so not suitable) the nurses at Leicester or Heartlands should be able to advise how other patients cope with their little friend, so would a specialist diabeties nurse if for insulin.
I would tend to plum for velcro if you can find any wider than the standard width, or a wider softish elasticIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

Cheers wogglemaker
it's a little bit scary but the silly bag they give with it is annoying so really want to find a different way of carrying it. I'm gonna have a go at making some little bags

hi, here's a link to how to make a wiggly bag. they are often made by volunteers to give to childrens hospitals for their little machines - it explains on the first page of this 2 page document. might help you out or give you ideas as they are designed to be able to view/push buttons and also allow for the tubes. i hope you find a comfortable solution. http://www.downsizer.net/gallery/14621/wiggly.pdfRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23.
