NB this is not my usual advice, which is *debt management* through CAB or similar. However you are in a hole right now and need to eat etc [resumabley...
ok. presumeabley you can go to minimum payment on Virgin cc while you clear the rest
I'd have a look at a Provident loan, max £500, to clear a couple o the payday loans - Provvie won't charge late fees, uncle buck etc certainly will.
By all accounts capital one are sods if you default, 20 to 30 calls a day, so if you have to default that one, change your phone number first and don't tell them the new one
Also, the payday loan guys will go into your account and claim any late fees the seccond you have any credit balance. So, you need a new bank account for your wages to go into next payday.
Do you have *anything* you can sell to get these clear? And I'd say mates first, because you may need them to feed you for a while and a little goodwill makes a lot of sandwiches. Pawn a games console? Ebay dvds? Any jewellry? This is not the largest sum we've seen here by a long chalk and selling stuff/ a second job should do it quite fast.
Also, even if it's just a quid a week, get a credit union savings account open now so you have somewhere to call on in case of further emergency.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

WOW - I'm hoping to do everything possible to avert defaulting on anything. What is the issue with getting a loan to wrap everything up in? I've seen a few at 48% which is obviously a horrible rate but surely it must be better just to bite the bullet with that then risk the penalties etc???0 -
i am sorry for your trouble and have nothing to say regards finance that hasnt already been said.
can you see a but coming? i know a guy who turned up at my house over a year ago. I know or have known others as well through were i have worked. He is your brother i know that and that is why you have tried to help him
well done.
However if you are not skilled in this area you will be led on a merry dance, that might possible already have destroyed you.
I have adapted an old saying and made it my own.
"the road to Hell is paved with the dead bodies of do gooders."
Those that partake of these evil goods will move hell or high water to lie, cheat deceive, offer their bodies for sex and everyting else to get what they want.-they dont take prisoners.
you are like a guppy , already wounded in shark infested waters. This is no joke, he could quite easily take you down with him. if you paid money over to his pushers, then they will be onto you as well.
lesson 1. don't show him your a soft touch
2.never go beyond the bounds of getting yourself in a mess overhim.
3.give him as much time, energy that you have available.
4. help him obtain expeert advice..
5 do what you can behind the scenes for him but never make yourself vulnerable either emotionally or financially.
6. pray for him as hard as possible.
I WISH you well

LDN, there is nothing at all wrong with bgetting a wraparound loan but if you have bounced DDs, odds on some of them are on your file, and if your own bank won't lend, my bet is other mainstream lenders also won't. Obv. if you have had time to ge a loan before it all got messy, it would have been different; but I totally understand why you couldn't at the time.
If that isn't the sort of help you are looking for - what other kinds of information do you need?Debt free 4th April 2007.
