BR Tax Code & Refund

I was previously placed on a wrong tax code from Jan to May, 2010. It was now BR. In May correction has been made and now it is 967L.
I received a letter from tax man in this regard informing me of correction of the tax code. However, I want to know how can I claim refund. Previously I send tax man a hand written application for tax refund about 2 months ago, but still waiting for response.

967L is a very unusual and high tax code
maybe it include the rebate owed from 2009-2010
what does the explanation of the code say?0 -
This was a mistake. My new tax code is 647L and not as previously posted. It does not talk about any refund for the period when I had the code BR.0

There's a significant backlog of refunds / correspondence etc owing to the many problems they (and their customers) have experienced with the new PAYE system.
Allegedly refunds are being consolidated at two offices and they expect to start issuing them this month (you won't find anything on their website). I would give it a few more weeks. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
You should have gotten a refund of any over-deducted tax from April 2010 in your pay when the correct code was operated for the first time. The rest of the refund due (Jan - April) will hopefully be processed, as Mikeyorks said, by the end of June. That's unless yet another glitch hits the new PAYE system.:oThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
