Best type of bed?

I definitely need a new bed! My current one is a normal mattress on top of a futon base, which is fine but when I moved it I broke it! there is now a kind of dip where the flats are broken
It's for me and occasionally dd and I'm only 5'3 so don't need a massive bed. I live in a new build flat, my room has mainly pine furniture, which I would like to change but can only change the bed for now.
So which type of bed is best?
faux leather (can't afford the real thing:o), metal or wooden?
High, low, high foot or not at all?
Any opinions gratefully received

The cheapest would be to just replace it with a divan base.0 -
You would think so!
But sadly no, divans are more expensive, I've just checked argos and the difference between the cheapest bed frame and the cheapest divan is £100:eek: I need a cheaper bed and unfortunatly those I can afford look cheap too, theres loads of the silver framed ones about, I'm just not sure I relly like those type:o:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly

Believe me, if you want anything decent quality, and sturdy, then a divan base is the cheapest option.
Argos is the last place you should go.
If I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores if you want good quality at a low price, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.0 -
Get a Divan off Freecycle, they are often offered as well as bedstead.
You can even put up a wanted post.
Hope this helps0
