Civil Celebrant recommendations?

Dear all,

Just wondering whether anyone has a good recommendation for a civil celebrant in the Bath/Somerset area?
We are aiming to get the formalities done the day before so that we can have our actual ceremony in the garden, so was looking at people who will "bless" our marriage on the day.

Also - if anyone else is doing a blessing ceremony - approximately how much was it??

Thank you lovelies xxx

Serendipity - you ain't fooling no one. What do you think about dresses? Where are you getting yours? Or your suit? Or what music will you have? Where are you getting your cake? Oh what's that, your speciality is telling us to google key words. Oh okay.

  • Is it a religious 'blessing' you are looking for - then you can just contact whichever appropriate faith and make direct arrangements with them. There will not be any set costs as it is not a marriage as such (if you have the legalities done beforehand) so it will just depend what they want to charge you for thier time, travel etc.

If it is a non-religious 'blessing' anyone can do it...providing they are not actually (legally) marrying you. Have a look at the Humanists website. In Scotland they can legally marry you and we had a legal, humanist wedding which we had full control over (all it had to be was 'dignified and respectful' - they can contain pretty much anything and be anywhere). The scottish website has a 'find a celebrant' page - the English one might have the same. Our celebrant cost the same as a civil ceremony, but it did include all the legal bits too it might be less if you have dealt with these separately.
