i'd say that's too far back, plus surely a solicitor would charge you for advice? the debt charities i mentioned are free, and will assess your current situation. national debtline helped me over the phone, they were great0 -

Do check this thread for debt charities and some good information, but as curly and confused have said don't pay a solicitor x

was getting legal aid.
solicitor back then told me to leave my creditors to make me bankrupt, even though she knew i had no assets etc.
i know better now.
and more than 5 years later they haven't as there is nothing in it for them.
i will give national debtline a call. thanks. am in scotland, so hope they cover here too.
im moving to the isle of man in july ( end of) and dont want to take my debts with me. im not paying for the move.:o
i just know that although veryby situation , i need to get this sorted. and at least br gives me a chance of not worrying about debt anymore.

yes they do cover Scotland. don't beat least you're looking to sort it out. hope it's a fresh start for you
