Has anyone heard of RewardTV?

I recently signed up to Opinion World. Via them, I was sent a link with the opportunity to join Reward TV. Has anyone heard of these before and are they any good. I don't want to waste my time doing surveys for peanuts.

never heard of reward tv before
  • yes, I am a member: they are happy to take your opinions, but cashing in your reward points is impossible - there are plenty of unhappy, US based members.

They have auctions (cd cost £34 worth of points) and a "shopping spree" where vouchers are supposed to be redeemable. There are generally 5x £15, 10x £10 and 15x £5 available; the user has to click a "buy it now" link, sometimes enter their password and then a security code. Today all vouchers were redeemed within 1s of the "spree" going live (draw your own conclusions).

I wrote them an email on a previous occasion when I failed to redeem a voucher and their response was "this is not a scam", even though I never mentioned it!

Avoid at all costs (unless you enjoy giving market research for free).

Thank you MelonFarmer. I am curious as to why OpinionWorld, who was recommended to me, would send me a link to them.

Sadly, I don't think recommendations come into it generally; I found them via mutualpoints and have seen them on greasypalm so think they are trawling all the cashback sites (with notional sign-up reward) for new users.

They hadn't published any details on the prizedraw winners last time I looked.

Am running down my membership in the hope of getting something before the points expire.
  • I noticed today that the points redeemable in the shopping spree feature have suffered a serious devaluation (minimum of 40%). It used to be 5000 pt/£, but the rates are now:

    125,000 = £15 (8,333 pt/£)
    100,000 = £10 (10,000 pt/£)
    75,000 = £5 (15,000 pt/£)

I guess it will be a lot easier to redeem now. Anyway, good luck to all users.
  • I've joined recently as well through a survey site, Reward TV is part of Nielsen which is a marketing company.

You do get quite a lot of points for douing quizzes and surveys, butn you need loads to claim anything. It looks like you can use your points to bid on auctions, but a lot of points are needed.
  • I joined reward tv in March and have so far redeemed £35 in vouchers, my tip is dont even bother trying to get a £10 or £15 voucher as they are impossible to get imo as stated above they are gone in seconds...I try for £5 vouchers when I remember(although the shopping sprees are every week) and everytime I have gone for one of them I have managed to get one. They do take a while to come and when I redeemed my first I wasn't expecting to receive anything as it seemed far too easy but they have turned up after about 6 weeks usually (it does state 10-12weeks for delivery!)....my only gripe is that it used to be 25000pts for a £5 voucher and they have now increased this to 75000pts for £5 so takes more effort to build up the points although there are weekly surveys that earn you around 20000pts. As for auctions you seem to need loads of points and you might aswell go for the vouchers and then use them to buy the items they are auctioning in the shops...also another point to make is they state the vouchers are for different shops...this put me off going for the £5 ones to begin with as they werent shops I would use but every voucher I have received has been a bonus bond voucher that you can spend in loads of high street shops so now i go for the £5 one regardless of what shop it states.Hope this helps.x
