It really affected me mentally, and I mourned the loss of that tooth!:o

    That's exactly how I feel.

Plus I'm a grinder so now I'm grinding away on the back tooth and it's feeling the strain.

Have you contacted your primary care trust? They have been fantastic for us, they helped my register with a GP which I found almost impossible when moving here, and also got my OH on the list at an NHS dentist (Like gold dust in London!).

There is a huge difference between a patient wishing that their dentist would see them on the NHS and a patient wanting to see any old dentist on the NHS.

This is one of the things that the Department of Health doesn't understand.

The relationship with a dentist is a very intimate one. (Oh Missus! Titter ye not!).

Donna seems very happy with her dentist, and he seems to be a very good dentist. There is nothing the PCT can do to bring him back onto the NHS.

P.S. Me saying you could leave the gap was only meant as a possible option. How you feel about the gap is as important as anything. If you want it filled, then it needs to be filled!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I would certainly rather change to an nhs dentist if I could than have to pay the private fees. The PCT would help get her onto the books of an nhs dentist.
I wouldn't say I can ever imagine having a relationship with my dentist. They are all evil, lol.

That is your choice. We all have different priorities and spend our money on different things.

    Vive la difference.
