Zip it please and whine to someone who cares. Also, why would he need their reference if he has a NEW job? I love Dime Bars. They were great chocolates.

This is a public forum so I shouldn't see why I should zip it. LOL

I'm just waiting for you to slip up somewhere along the line you sad git. I was gonna add *county of origin* but I realise this would be tarring you all with the same brush.

    Peace :D

    Hi
Not sure if right place but maybe point me in right direction if not.

I left a job in March (the day before payday) and got paid as expected. (minus bonus that was due as given in notice prior)
Went to new job and then at the end of April got paid normal months salary from old job!!!!
Moved the money out of my account and waited for letter to come through requesting repayment.
Middle of May comes, still not heard anything - no P45 nothing from old job. So I send an email to HR requesting my P45.
Day before yesterday receive P45 from old job. Today I have received a letter requesting repayment of months salary plus extra as they believe they overpaid me in March (this i need to check)

I know this needs to be paid back but I am really cross. Makes me wonder if anything would have happened if I had not contacted them. Believe it or not this is a large company who you would expect them to get it right first.
I am inclined to write back offering to pay it back in instalments!!!!

    Just needed to sound off.....

    Thanks

Just pay them back and stop whingeing.

They made a mistake, end of. You seriously didn't expect them to forget that they'd paid you and just let you off, as a favour to you?

And have you started your new job and they've checked out your references from your old job yet?

I'm gonna say it like it is because that's how I roll - keeping it rizzle.

I would've done exactly what you said in your last paragraph "Not bothered contacting them in the first place".

    I would have then bought:

    - a pair of new Nikes
    - some sweaters from BHS
    - £50 T-Mobile top up voucher
    - Meal at Chiquito
    - Holiday in Egypt

I would have then waited for the inevitable letter from the company requesting payment, at which point, I would've got my younger brother to call them and say "he has left home and taken up a new job in the EU".

They'd continue trying to get ahold of me (dodgy number/address) and they'd eventually give up. It's highly unlikely them trying to pursue payment of less than £2K.

    Result.

Have to LAUGH at your style mate. Sweaters from BHS, meal at Chiquito, holiday in Sharm el Sheikh eh?!

Just what I should expect from 'Sho'. mwahahahahaha :rotfl:

When you look as good as me, you don't need a Versace, D&G or Prada flex. A bin bag t-shirt and LIDL flip flops is all it takes for me to get some pum pum punani. My FB profile photo is an OXFAM suit and I still look diggy dapper.

Nice cotton V-Necks from BHS - £15 (BOGOF)
    Amazing plain T-Shirts from Matalan - £3
Acapulco Chicken Sizzling Hot Fajitas and Nachos - Bum diggity.
    Egypt - Anywhere

Because you got paid 'as normal' have you since recieved any holiday pay due that hasnt been claimed?
Would be worth witholding that from what you return to them.
The cheeky blighters probably owe you some £££ not the other way round
