I'm really starting to smell of BO since I haven't had a shower in a while
The drain on my power shower system is blocked up with mud (not hair, it's blocked with dirt/mud!). I can't afford to unblock it and the shower room floor is flooded with water. Because it's so muddy I can't even see the drain through the dirty water. Is there any way I can remove the water and unblock the drain? I've tried using a plunger for the last hour but this does NOT work. I was thinking of using caustic soda but this might be difficult since the whole floor is flooded. I think I would have to drain away the water in order to be able to use this. Any ideas?
First I'd like to get some advice regarding how I can use the caustic soda in this situation. Then, if the caustic soda doesn't work, what else can I do that you guys can recommend?

If all it is is mud, then caustic soda will make no difference - that's used to clear fat (it reacts with the fat and makes soap).
Is this an outside drain that's clogged with mud - if so, you'll need to get some rubber gloves on and get in there :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Can you put some gloves on and see if you can take out the plug hole. Mine is covered with a metal cap and then underneath is a piece which comes out which helps cleaning. Once out you could put in a strong soluteion of washing soda to clear it out. HTH
P.s I keep disposable gloves for jobs like these.0 -
Sounds like you'll need to rod it. A hardware shop or somewhere like B&Q should sell drain rods.0
