Cheap sofas are huge because the large amount of very cheap filling is a good way of hiding the very poor quality frame underneath.

    M&S do a good variety.

M&S have an offer on at the moment, if you buy two pieces of furniture, you get 30% off. They have some nice small sofas.

sofasofa do a money back guarantee if you don't like the sofas when they arrived. I was worried too but would definitely use them again. They have a showroom in cardiff and they often have a show in a London hotel as well.

Simple answer to that - I've seen fat friends of mine try and sit on my small sofa - hmmm....and there is no way that normal size me can sit on that 2 seater sofa beside them (as they edge over into the other half of it). I say nothing and just think "Well - it might give them an added incentive to go on a diet."

But manufacturers ought to take account generally of the fact that some people are still normal size (rather than ranging from fat to grossly obese) AND have small houses.

I have to admit the thought never even crossed my mind of trying to buy seating big enough for fat friends - I realised the other day that my whole house has automatically been arranged by me to only accommodate slim to standard size people - and I have no intention of altering it.

So - long story short - I think all these huge sofas are being made because a lot of people are now huge themselves.

We got a pair of smallish sofas from a seller on Ebay, they actually make the sofas that DFS sell. I think they were half the price though, and Mrs Gloomendoom also ordered a few yards of matching fabric to cover other things to match.

They refund everything except the delivery charge, they do charge a collection charge but can't remember how much that is. I have to say our sofas were exactly like they were in the pictures. They will send you fabric sample free of charge as well. A friend of ours aso ordered 3 sofas from them, 2 of them different styles and I would say they looked exactly like they did on the website. You could always give them a call and see when they're doing the london days and maybe get cheap train tickets and make a weekend of it?
