Basically me and the O/H are looking at new sofa's and honestly do dfs, scs.csl think we all live in palaces because most of the sofa's are huge not normal house size but like the size of an american car. Then you find one that might fit and they charge 8000 quid for the luxery of having a smaller sofa.
So does anyone know anywhere that sells sofa's that are not mahossive and dont cost the earth (say400-500 each) we live in a small victorian terrace and each way i look i see a least anther 500+ houses of similarf size so am i just being thick or is there a special small house shop

I have a small terrace too - can't even fit 2x 2 seaters in my living room properly.
Most of the ranges have options of smaller sofas but might not be on display. If you see something you like the look of, ask the question.
I had no problems and could have bought from just about any retailer.0 -
Have you looked at John Lewis?

There are other colours/styles too0 -
Cheap sofas are huge because the large amount of very cheap filling is a good way of hiding the very poor quality frame underneath.
M&S do a good variety.0 -
The sofa we got from DFS a couple of years back was a 3seater but we couldn't fit the 2seater in the room as well, so they offered to make us the single which we took, with a free foot-rest! The range you see in the showroom is just for a visual aid on design and comfort. If you want something different, ask!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

easy chairs are very large relative to small sofas. and expensive to make. hence a lot of companies have cottoned onto the fact that they can make just 2 and 3 seater sofas.Get some gorm.0

The problem is not that sofas are too large, but that rooms are too small. If people stopped buying the ludicrously large sofas that are advertised. I suspect that the manufacturers and retailers would soon alter their products to fit the demand.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
