  • Have you thought about heading up Kingussie/Newtonmore/Aviemore way?
Were up there recently & went walking in the Rothiemurchus estate (lovely) and also visited the fabulous Highland Folk Museum www.highlandfolk.com which is an outdoor museum which covers a mile of ground. Also the steam train in that next of the woods too.

    M&Ds is awful
    Landmark is brilliant.
Blair Drummond Safari Park is a good day out for all ages - take a picnic and they also have BBQ areas
Stirling castle is good and you can combine that with a visit to the Stirling jail.
Goape is in Aberfoyle - about 20 miles from Stirling. Fantastic day out and there are some areas for wild camping around Loch Ard and Loch Chon. (In fact, lovely campsite just outside aberfoyle - Cobleland - and there is a river where kids can swim in a little pool bit)
Loch Katrine is good - you can hire bikes (or take your own) nice tearoom and go for a sail on the steamer. Can be busy on nice days.

If you are going in to Glasgow then the Science Centre is very good for all ages. In Edinburgh the Dungeon is good for older kids/teenagers and the camera obscura on the Royal Mile is interesting.
Dundee's a good compact city to visit and has the Discovery and the Verdant works. Centre of Dundee is looking really nice now (although Ailuro - thought Dunbar was the sunniest place in Scotland? )

Thats what I was always told....it might be sunny but it is freeeeeezing!
  • :EasterBunWell! you have got a lots of options, as there are no. of places to see at the royal mile in Edinburgh. There are more such places, where you can go along with your kids and the other family. You just have to do a little surfing on the net.
