I cant view my husands self assessment, been like this a while now.

I emailed the helpdesk and i got this reply

'Thank you for your email.

There is currently an error on the online service for Self Assessment.
If you have completed the return and also submitted an amendment then
you will not be able to access the system at this time.

Our Software Developers are aware of the problem and are in the process
of developing a fix. Please check the Service Issues page from the HMRC
site, this provides further information and will be the first place that
is updated when this has been resolved.

HMRC apologise for any inconvenience caused.'

Do you think is affecting refunds ? Always an error with them! And they want everyone to file online in the near future!!!!

Doesn't sound like it. It suggests it's only the online view (a separate system to the main SA accounting system) that's affected and their own people can see the data satisfactorily. Extract from the SA 'issues' register :-

System Error message on log in – updated 11 March 2010

We are aware that some customers are receiving a system error message when trying to log in to the online service. The customers affected will have already submitted both an original return and an amendment. This issue is being investigated by our IT service partners and we are working towards the soonest possible resolution for our customers. HMRC would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this issue may cause.
If you require information regarding your account please contact your Tax Office.
We will provide an update as soon as we have more details.

Contact your tax office who can put the wheels in motion for the refund to be issued.

Hopefully the system will be 'fixed' soon.
