I filed my husbands tax return on the 25th May, he was self employed from Apr 09 to Sept 09, then employed up until the end of tax year 10. I added employment to his tax return and came out he was due £755 back as overpaid.
I called today as still no refund has gone in to his bank, the message on the line says refunds are taking up to 4 weeks, anyome waited that long?.
I filed a SA online last month for a friend and it was in his bank 5 working days later!

Forward the email to phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Some where on this forum there is a list of the items of unhandled mail by tax office last autumn.
The Northern offices seemed to have greater backlogs than the Southern ones - Cardiff was coping particularly well if I remember correctly.0 -

The message on the IVR relates to claims for PAYE refunds, these are currently taking about 4 weeks from referral/receipt for refund or correspondence to occur.
Self assessment refunds submitted on-line are normally refunded within 10 days, unless selected for security checks. then upto 4 or 8 weeks or even never if there are irregularitiesHe's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0
