Gold wrapped sweets ideas pls

Hello everyone:wave:
Please can you help with some ideas for gold wrapped sweets other than Frara Roche (sorry can't spell it!) or the hard toffees used to flavour vodka? Am helping to organise a wedding and my bit is to decorate the tables. I'm doing balloons and platters with gold wrapped sweets and jelly beans and a scattering of tiny cupids, hearts and balloon shaped cut outs (raided from my craft box:p)
Cheers:beer:

I made 'pots of gold' for xmas pressies last year, if you look at the pots of gold thread on the special occasions board you can get lots of ideas for gold sweets on there.
From what I can remember I got some fun sized crunchies, some elizabeth shaw mints and of course the roche ones and werthers also got some from a 99p store, don't know what they were but they were wrapped in gold! also being xmas was able to get gold coins, you might be able to get some of them from an online shop or even ask in local shops if they have any put away for this xmas. Oh and some of the quality street big caramel ones.whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Off the top of my head, Asda Smart Price chocolate eclairs are definately in gold wrappers, or Worthers Originals (or are they the toffees you were referring to?). If you were after bigger sweets there are the big versions of gold/caramel Quality Street, or Tesco do a bar of chocolate which comes in a cardboard sleeve but inside are 5 small bars in individual gold wrappers.0

Brilliant suggestoins! I hadn't even thought of fun size things and if I could get gold coins that would be great. May thanks.:T0 -

They most certainly are - make great flavoured vodka!:rotfl:0 -
Just a quick note to say thanks to all who responded. There are some great suggestions here. Considering that I was a big 'lurker' on the Christmas threads last year you would have thought I'd have remembered the pots of gold theme!:o I shall be scouring all the shops and supermarkets from now on (wedding is in September). :beer:0

Just thought you might like to know that Poundworld has boxes of Green and Blacks mini eggs in at the moment and they are in gold foil. They have milk chocolate with butterscotch and dark chocolate truffle flavours. They are on offer at two boxes for £1. I bought a whole load of them last night as I'm using them as favours for our wedding. I'm well impressed at the price as I didn't think I could afford green and blacks chocolates for the wedding as these boxes normally sell for £4 each! They have quite a long date on them too - iirc the dark chocolate are good until october and the milk chocolate until March 2011.0
