What to wear to a wedding reception in a pub?

My friend is getting married abroad and when she comes back is having her reception in a local pub on a Thursday night, as far as I know it isnt even in a function room as I dont think the pub actually has one, its just a casual few drinks with a couple of trays of food laid on.
I dont know what to wear
I was going to wear a pair of good jeans with nice shoes and top, given the location and situation, but then my OH said if someone wore jeans to our wedding he'd be really !!!!sed off, and thinking about it I probably would too, but mine wont be in the bar of the local with all the regulars nosing in!
What do you think? I really dont want to wear a typical wedding guest dress, its far too overdressed for the pub in question!

But you wouldnt be wearing jeans to the wedding, you would be wearing decent jeans and a nice top to a get together in a pub.
You wear what you want to wear, what is he wearing, a suit.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I'd wear maybe a floaty maxi dress and sandals, or like you said, jeans, heels and a smart top.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
