were can i find the rule sof working in a shop on the till to say about working 9 hours on a till having to stand all the time ? as i cannot find the site i have looked on direct gov but nothing. i want to know wether there is a guidline about wether they have to supply seating for the amount of time .
thank you
Talk to your health and safety person to see if they are able to provide you a seat. A nice conversation can sometimes go a much longer way towards a good resolution than quoting rules and regulations at them.0 -
We were told by our Union that a seat of some description must be provided for everyone, irrespective of whether that individual had a disability or not. It would take the form of an actual chair, or a "perch", which is apparently something that you hook your buttocks onto.
If you're standing for long periods in one position and are unable to move around, you run the risk of developing varicose veins. Ask to see the company risk assessment regarding till work.0
