Washing crinkled silk?

Not really money saving (unless you count not paying for dry cleaning!) but I know this is where I'll find helpful advice.

I have an M&S crinkled 100% silk skirt - bought on ebay, so care instructions were cut out. I don't think it's a permanent process, as it's definitely bottom-shaped where I sit. If I wash and drip-dry it, do I risk just losing the crinkling? Has anyone successfully used the twisting/rubber bands method? Do the bands not leave horizontal marks?

Any advice would be very welcome - thanks.

Dd has a long crinkle skirt, and she twists her skirt around, from waist band to hem, and ties it in a knot!! That seems to do the trick, and it doesnt need ironing!
    Hope that helps

I use the same process & it has been successful on silk & cotton.

Thank you both - does it take forever to dry? Presumably on the line on a warm blowy day?

I do the same thing with my "crinkled" blouses and skirts - hang them outside for the day then unknot them and leave them to fully dry / air overnight. Definitely don't iron them.
