Cheapest place for Castor Oil? (Oil Cleansing Method)? Boots 99p, Lloyds £1.49!

Uninspiring name and image, but since reading up on Castor Oil and using it for the Oil Cleansing Method, I've decided it's wonderful!
Three months in, and no more spots or funny lumps under the skin that won't budge for all the love, money, treatments or squeezing in the world. No more flaky skin.
I also use it in lieu of night cream, and it's gorgeous. Absolutely no stinging, as can sometimes happen if I have any apparently weak areas of skin, caused by the heaven knows what that they put in even stuff like Clinique and Simple.
Anyhow, I'd previously purchased 100ml bottles from Boots for 99p, and went to Lloyds pharmacy as I was passing one. I always try to support Lloyds when I can, thinking of Boots as a major money grabbing overhyped machine ever since I was charged about three times as more for a bottle of generic cough medicine than my local independent pharmacy charged.
But today at Lloyds, I was given the same brand and size of castor oil as at Boots, but costing about 50% more. Bah humbug.
Has anyone seen cheaper sources of castor oil, please?

I haven't even been able to buy castor oil in my local chemist or Boots since last year - apparently for health and safety reasons they don't sell it anymore

What possible H&S risk are there with Castor Oil???
The mind boggles!
I've been looking today, I live in a small market town and searched all possible shops but found none on the shelves anywhere. I was gonna ask at the pharmacy in Boots but the entire OAP population seemed to be waiting for something.....castor oil perhaps???....so I gave up. Will try again monday when I have more time.0 -
I bought some castor oil recently and they didn't stock it at Boots or the other chemist nearby. Managed to get 100ml for £1.49 at my local independent pharmacy and it was the last bottle. You can buy it online with Chemist Direct and maybe Express Chemist? I think. If I can't get any more locally I'll have to order it online though I do begrudge paying the postage...
ETA: Chemist Direct sell it here:

100ml for £1.33.
I had a look at Express Chemist and they don't sell it (only castor oil and zinc cream.)0 -
I've been told by Boots that it is no longer sold as it can be mis-used by pregnant women. Haven't been able to find any yet, but am still looking forward to trying this method.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -
I couldn't get any in Boots, but luckily my local Lloyds chemist had it.
Since it was the only place in town that sold it, I was happy to pay their priceWas cheaper than paying postage.

I'm a fan of oil cleansing as well - fantastic! I use Castor/Olive oil but I know there are other combinations such as grapeseed, sunflower etc.
Try here - 1 litre of castor oil for £4.99 (49p per 100ml)!0 -
That H & S could be the reason my DD couldn't get me some castor oil in Boots last week.:(
I use it in a potion to deter cats from our garden and daughter came home adamant that Boots said they had none.
Last year I had trouble buying Citric Acid (for making Elderflower Cordial) that was H & S too. Funny how we've been buying it for years, just like castor oil and now we can't.
Citric Acid was something to do with drug addicts veins I was told at the chemists.0 -
I was told castor oil is mis-used by anorexics for laxative purposes.
So because of a few people, the rest of us are deterred from sensible useage!!!
My view is that these products do not make enough profit so they want you to buy expensive alternatives. I may be wrong though?Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Thank you, IronMaidenFan.
Larmy, I agree with you. It's not as though they've made those overpriced diet pills illegal.0 -

Thanks for the info. I've just bought some and even with the p&p it still works out at 98p per 100mls which is half the price I've been paying and saves me the slog of going round the little chemists as they are the only ones who seem to stock it !
It is brilliant stuff and I've been recommending it (or rather the OCM) to anyone who will listen.0
