Meeting with the bank today

I have a meeting with my bank today... Eeeek!!!

Basically, a message popped up on their system saying it was time for a review. I havent had a review with them since being in debt as last time they wanted one I was reasonably ok with my finances so not much was said.

This time now... I'm a little worried!

The bottom line is, I wont be accepting anything they offer because a) I'm going to do this on my own without getting any more debt

and b) credit rating is probably so dire I will get rejected anyways and I dont want any searches going on my record.

Does anyone have any advise on what this meeting will be like and what to expect / prepared for?

Meeting is in 40 minutes just around the corner from my office. Would have come online sooner but its been manic at work!

You realise you don't ave to go to this meeting? A 'review meeting' from a bank is just an excuse for them to sell you more products, it's not about helping you in any way.

I know its optional but seeing I'm trying to be more financial savvy, I thought there is no harm in going along if not just to chat and let them know I am working on my debt

Don't even bother going, if those are your reasons. Banks like a proportion of their customers not to be financially savvy and they like to ensnare these people in as much debt as they can pay off. They have you sized up as a debtor, they have probably called you in because they have noticed you are reducing your debt and they want to put you into some more.

Well, it went really well actually.

In fact, she loved the fact that I am starting to head in the right direction with my debt and that Im doing a really good job.

Going to see her again in 3 months to see what progress I have made :)

Very happy, I like my bank :)

Call me a cynic, but I would expect you to be offered finance at the next review or the one after. Nice she may have been BUT she IS on either commission or performance targets.
