Working at home - are there any disadvantages?

Hi
I have been unemployed for the last few months, and now thinking of working from home on a home based business. This would just be for about a year or so, in order to keep paying my bills and hopefully the job market would pick up by then.
When I go back to searching for a job in order to work for an employer, would the employer think that it would be a liability to employ me since he may think that I have lost my 'people skills' and other communication and interpersonal skills?
Thanks

It depends what you were doing when working from home and what career you later apply for. If they are related there is unlikely to be a problem, I haven't had any issues. If you are just dabbling with various up your income ideas then they might not look so favourably but it really depends on the job.
If anything working from home shows that you are self motivated and can work independently, quite a few people couldn't cope with working on their own so it can be an advantage if you sell yourself.0 -
The only downside, apart from it slowly taking over the house, is that you never get any time off.0

Hi
I was thinking of working for Lionbridge (as mentioned on this forum a few times). Would that be ok in the long run?
ie. When tryng to find an office based job with an employer in the near future, do you think they would look negatively at me and think I have lost my 'people skills' e.g communication & interpersonal skills etc?

I think it would be looked upon favourably. You could've just signed on the dole but chose not to.0
