New tax and NI rates

Options
I am a self-employed part-time sole trader and earn c. £6,500 a year. After tax-deductible expenses, I rarely pay any income tax. This means the new tax allowance will not benefit me, yet I will still be clobbered by the rise in National Insurance. So as a very low earner I am WORSE off! Fortunately my husband earns a decent sum so we won't go bankrupt, but not every low earner will be so lucky. Should I change my tax/NI arrangements so that I am dealt with as his wife, or remain a separate entity?

You cannot 'be dealt with as his wife' - joint taxation, a relic of the dark ages was abolished many years ago, thankfully.
£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths
