Hi Mike,
I've just had a recent return on my credit file which notes 4, yes 4 CIFAS Markers on my account, all logged by two specific companies!!
I've written to them and requested further information and confirmed that it was me in question. In their response, they stated that they were logged due to failure to disclose a previous address however, all details requested by the car sales person, I provided!!
Due to the markers, I am having difficulty in obtaining credit as companies don't seem to except my perfectly simple explanation of this.
Any suggestions/assistance in this matter would be gratefully received as I'm now desperate!!!
Thanks.0 -
Hi
My OH has debt accrued mainly through his marriage, all of his finances leading up to this were excellent. He currently has a trust deed (scottish version of an IVA) and so has a bad credit score.
Can he put a note on his file, would it make any difference since the trust deed is still being paid and how would he write an explanation without making it sound like he is blaming?0 -
He can apply to the CRAs to put a Notice Of Correction on his credit file, which must be under 200 words and is used to explain circumstances surrounding (usually) adverse data on the file. I'd go for a brief summary of the events which caused his financial difficulties (i.e. divorce, payroll errors, etc) and give an indication of when/if these difficulties were/will be resolved.
If you're unsure what to write, your local CAB should be able to help.
Whether the NOC will have any impact is uncertain - it's up to creditors whether they decide to take any notice of it.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW Nerd #4910 -
hi, i lost my house during a catastrophic relationship breakdown a couple of years ago. the mortgage company sent in the bailiffs, i found out when they knocked on the door. this cost me thousands in charges at the time, i was wondering if any of these could be claimed back?0

Yet another question...I have paid off my defaults all seven of them in Oct 2005 amounting to about £40,000! I first defaulted in Oct 2002 when I became a student and a single parent family...ouch! Will all my defaults disappear off my credit reports in Nov 2007 or when they were satisified. Equifax have them disappearing in Oct/Nov this year ( when I checked online) but Callcredit have them only satisfied on most accounts in Oct 2005 and barclaycard satisifed in Feb 2006.... Which banks use callcredit? oh and by the way Experian has rated me the best of the lot at 631, Equifax 500, callcredit 591 advice please?:)0 -
