Transfer of mortgage from joint to single owner?

Hi,

Is it possible to 'transfer' a mortgage from a joint mortgage to a single one?
That is, to transfer it with the same conditions, etc. but just to one of the parties?

Furthermore, is it possible to subsequently add someone new to the same mortgage at a future date?

Talk to the lender,they decide if you can continue with the same T&C's

I am in the process of transferring my mortgage from joint to single ownership, keeping the same terms. It is costing me £160 to do this plus solicitors fees (in my case these are £350). My mortgage lender is Halifax.

My ex and I are doing this. Same as Lucy we're paying a fee to the lender (£107) and a few hundred in solicitor fees to deal with the title deeds etc.

The Terms will all be the same, but he'll have a different mortgage account number.

Thanks for the feedback; that sounds hopeful.

I'd definitely like to keep the existing T&C, since the rate is less than 1%.
