Wanted...free wedding photography

Hi all

I know everyone's budget is very tight, but like alot I'm looking for someone that can do our photography for free. The wedding is 28th August this year. I had found someone local who is trying to build their porfolio but they are out of the country on the day. We're in Staffordshire.

Silly as it may sound to some, I'd much rather have someone starting out so that I don't end up with a carbon copy of someone elses wedding ambum with all the same shots. I love photography and would do it myself if I could but bride/photographer is not really the done thing.

If there are any students or photographers trying to start up that would be able to help, please message me.

I'm more than happy to agree for the pictures to be used in a portfolio or on a website, at the end of the day if they weren't good you wouldn't use them, in return for a CD of the images and your time.

Thanks

You could try local colleges for a photography student who might do them for free, or gumtree. But be careful as you're taking a big risk with getting someone with little or no experience to entrust with the photography of a very important day for yourself. You might not get a carboncopy of someone elses wedding album but worst case you'll end up with very few usable images. Good luck.

If you go with a college student I would still offer to pay them something... a little incentive can go a long way ;)

  • Hello there

I have just seen your post asking for a student photographer to cover your big day. Let me firstly tell you a bit about myself. My name is Rudi and photography is something that has always been very much an obsessive hobby of mine for many many years. Having spent the best part of 10 years working in the TV/Theatre Industry as an actor I am now looking to turn my hobby into a very serious career path. I actually got married fairly recently and I was a little disappointed with the results from the photographer we hired, poor people skills, poor business skills and very average shots. He cost a lot of money, we didn't get much change for £1000, but as Im sure you've discovered that is the going rate for a photographer to provide 7-8 hours of your wedding day. However some people do forget how time consuming it can be in post production, so I do think its a fair price.

I can offer you shots you can be proud of and a level of customer service that wont let you down. I have done a some weddings in the past (friends, family) and will always try to be as unobtrusive as possible throughout the day. If you have any specific requests please let me know, I am willing to do anything to make your day as special as possible. I can cover your wedding day free of charge which will include all images (copyright free) on a disc. If you require the bride getting ready etc I am willing to do this at no extra cost.

I of course have professional grade equipment, Canon 5d markII, Canon 24-70 f2.8 and Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS

If you haven't found anybody and are interested then drop me a line

    Cheers

    Rudi
