Less demand does not equal no demand, so I can't see why SOME of you shouldn't still be in work, maybe point this out to them and say if they are looking for volunteers to work those you're happy to do so0

Surely those employees so desperate to see the England WC games can use some of the annual leave if they so wish?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Having worked in a call centre through a major tournament before I can confirm that its likely to be a waste of time opening.
Last world cup we received 2 calls during an England game compared to a normal 200+0 -
Don't worry too much as going on Englands usual performance you will only have to do this twiceApproach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0

I am very interested in this thread, as my call centre employers are doing the same thing to me! I get to make the hours up and have a wednesday afternoon off. I don't mind doing it really, as I do see the idea behind not contacting customers when the world cup is playing, but its annoying cos I hate footie (lol) and would really love to be given the option of doing this, or stopping @ work, taking an hit on my sale stats and doing some sort of paperwork task.Learning to be 'good with money'0
