I'm sure these posters will be hounded out soon enough, with the rest wallowing in self-agreement that the crash is 'just around the corner' for the next 15 years.

Are you sure you're not hamish? You both seem to share a certain preoccupation with another website?0 -
Borrowing on only 3 times salary demonstrates somebody with financial sense. Not like the millions who have over extended and will now spend their working lives repaying debt (that they should never of been allowed to borrow in the first place).
With no waves there's no surfing. Better to paddle away and find more attractive investments.0 -

Nuff said really...So that's the story, we moved in 2 weeks ago and it's job done... family home owner. Not the outcome I expected in 2008, but a still a satisfactory one for me and the family.0 -

It's our very own daddytroll....
And he borrowed three times joint income. Not like the millions who have over extended and will now spend their working lives repaying debt (that they should never of been allowed to borrow in the first place).
.
The average FTB mortgage never crossed 3.5 times income even at peak.
And the average 2TB mortgage never crossed 3 times income even at peak.
The concept of "millions overextending" is a myth..... At least on house purchases. Can't comment on other debt they may well have also run up.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

About a dozen replies yet and so far nothing but support.0 -

Wow, nothing gets past you.
What I did find surprising was that I receive a lot more support on HPC than on here. Maybe I should post in the buying and selling section and ask for some hugz.
As for the salary multiple, my wife has just gone down to part time and the three times joint is based on her part-time income. We were offered five time joint  .0 -

Oh it's entirely possible to buy a house and not get banned. God knows, enough of them have given in and done so by now.
You should be fine so long as you keep prefacing all your remarks with;
"I'm still a bear, and house prices should drop, but......"
or
"House prices are still too high, and must inevitably fall one day, but......"
Just try not to be too positive. Keep a gloomy and miserable outlook. And make sure to keep a "we've been cheated" attitude, blaming everything on McBroon, Sheeple, Artificially Low Rates, Desperate Governments, Greedy Boomers, etc....:rotfl:“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

That was another reason for buying. Being angry and frustrated just takes up too much energy.0 -

They were being polite.
Secretly, they hate you for giving in and becoming a scab with the home buyers strike.:D
Me, I'm delighted you bought. At least one of our bears isn't stupid enough to wait for prices to cross previous peak before buying.....
We'll hold you up as a shining example of returned sanity to all the little bear cubs.;)
Seriously though, hope you enjoy it.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
