Hi guys and girlies, I have a problem!!!

I had a loan with Cahoot (Flexable) which has now been passed onto Santander.

When I had the loan with cahoot I didnt receive statements and logged in online. Since Santander have taken over, I now get a statement each month. (about £2000 outstanding)

I want these statements to stop arriving, I have said I can provide an email address if needed, Santander have said they have to be sent by post.

Long story, but if they carry on being sent, I will have to leave and then I will be in even more Sh*t

ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO GET THESE STOPPED?

I'm either going to have to give them a random address or something.

If I get kicked out, Sandander are getting ZERO off me. I am willing to repay if they can stop sending me the statements.

I believe you can arrange to collect your mail from a Post Office instead of having it delivered. Would that help?

You could ask if the statements could be sent to your work address instead maybe.

I guess you need someone who has a similar loan or dealings with Santander to 100% confirm you can't just go paperless with them.

Cant send them to work either.

Grrrrrrrr. This is doing my head in.

I might just give them a false address, I'd rather have my ID stolen than be homeless

You have to pay but what about a PO Box?

giving a false address is fraud and also you can be placed on the gain database. Why cant you have them to a friends address?

Just tell the people who are intercepting your mail to stop doing it; it would be illegal in this instance I think?

Judging by the OP saying about being made homeless/have to leave, I would imagine even if that is part of it, they required the loan to be only their business.

I find it strange that Santander do not provide paperless statements though. I would have thought it would have been something they would encourage in this time of lets all go green and save energy and the world, even if recycled toilet paper rips your bum.

With my Egg loan, I only receive a yearly statement. Maybe it would be possible for the OP to request only a yearly statement.
  • not sure if this helps but i have the same loan with Cahoot as you (now passed to Santander)

I have never, ever, when it was with Cahoot, or now it is with Santander received a paper statement! Cahoot are an online bank so didnt issue them and this has remained the same for me.........

I'm sure Santander would stop sending statements upon request if you asked. I have the opposite problem, I've asked for them to send statements as now we have no online access to our loans the only way we can find out how much we have to pay is by calling up.

It amazes me just how incompetent these guys are. Every time I call up I get different information...

Called up last week to pay, and was told I could only pay the exact amount due this month. When I explained that we didn't know how much this was because we STILL had not received a paper statement they said there';s nothing they could do and they could not accept over payments. I tell them that the previous two months they have accepted over payments over the phone and the response was that 'They shouldn't have taken the payment'.
Called up yesterday to pay and the person on the phone took the overpayment.

    Still no statement however!
