I would suggest upgrading to SP3. As of July 13th Microsoft will stop supporting SP2 anyway!

That's what I just wanted to write too. It might be related.

Running Win XP with service pack 2 and the 'Help and Support' function has stopped working! Don't know when this happened but have tried to set a restore point and just get a couple of seconds of hour glass and nothing else!
Only have an original cd without sp2 and therefore can't use the inf install route! Any suggestions? NB I get no error messages. Thanks

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is END OF LIFE and no longer supported. Upgrade to Service Pack 3.

Thanks everyone for your input. I've just got back online after trying to install the latest Realtek AC'97 driver (A4.06). System threw a wobbly and crashed! Any suggestions for this?!

Sounds like your trying to install the incorrect driver
Personally id use windows updates, if its not there then leave it be (Assuming you already have sound)
