Windows Xp 'Help and Support' not working

Running Win XP with service pack 2 and the 'Help and Support' function has stopped working! Don't know when this happened but have tried to set a restore point and just get a couple of seconds of hour glass and nothing else!
Only have an original cd without sp2 and therefore can't use the inf install route! Any suggestions? NB I get no error messages. Thanks

Yes, have used it in the past! This is a really old pc and struggles enough with SP2! I dread the thought of putting sp3 on it!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

I would suggest upgrading to SP3. As of July 13th Microsoft will stop supporting SP2 anyway!0

Its a lot more likely that youve a lot of things running in the background that have nothing to do with microsoft updates
Hows about a check for nasties etc?
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -

I've run malwarebytes etc and all is clean!! Seems to have the correct reg key and just wondered if anyone had had a similar problem and if there was an obvious solution!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

All I was going to do was to update my audio drivers and just wanted to set a restore point and discovered that H & S wasn't working! I rarely use H&S and was just being a good thing by setting up a restore point before the new installation. I'm guessing that it may have stopped working months ago!!!!!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
