Orange Dolphin £25/month, unlimited free texts. Either that or o2 payg 300 texts per month for £10.

Neither are free exactly, but good deals nonetheless

  • I am on the o2 scheme - if you top up £10 each month you get 300 free texts, and you still have the £10 credit to use on calls or more texts if you manage to use up the 300 free ones.

Does this work with the talkalot package on o2 payg?
  • If I top up £15 I also get some minutes that they call talkalot minutes, as well as the texts - and the £15 is mine to use as I like (talk/text).
  • a friend of mine has vodafone- im not sure how but..
if you top up £5 pound a week
there is a certain amount you haved to spend (totals to £5)
    and you get free txts
    and free weekend calls

This is for £15 you get 300 sms and 150 evening/weekend minutes (aka Talkalotmore). This only applies if you have it already, as O2 have cottoned onto this and now offer sms OR minutes. The benefit of the old tariff is you get minutes and sms, but doesnt give you higher texts for higher top ups like the new tariff does.

So just a word of warning, if you are seduced by the offer of 1000 texts or 150 anytime minutes for putting on £30 a month, just be aware that if you are getting minutes and messages at the moment and change to this you will NOT be able to change back.
