Hi all, didn't know where else to put this but if it's in the wrong place please move it for me. I am looking to buy an extra remote for me wii but the unofficial ones are a lot cheaper than the official ones and just wondered if anyone has had any problems with the unofficial ones and if not where is the best place to buy them.
Thanks
Thanks

There are genuine Wii remotes on ebay for £10.35 with free postage.I got one from Hong Kong for just under £12 and free postage but this seems an even better bargain.Hope this helps!:jif i had known then what i know now0

I don't know about wii remotes but i bought a logic3 wii nunchuk off ebay and after 12 months it no longer works. When you plug it into the remotes it stops both of them from being recognised by the scanning bar.0

I've purchased a few 'official' wii remotes from Hong Kong and China in the past.
We used them and a couple of infrared pens from www irpens co uk for the wiimote project to set up interactive work surfaces using bluetooth, an infrared pen and the wii remote. Talk about a completely different and fun use for the nintendo wii remote controller.
During our informal 'tests' we definitely found that many third party wii remotes are inferior quality and many look official but ARE NOT.
I'm not putting all makes down, but just that during our tests we found that the official wii remote had a much greater detection distance and IMHO the detection from an official wii remote was better.
The 'thirdies' work fine with the wii console of course but were basically cheap imitations...unless of course its for the kids who may accidentally chuck it a round a bit, then cheaper is definitely better.
Purchases from Hong Kong and China can make it difficult if you ever need to return faulty items of course. Ask me, I know, I have five I have been unable to return. 'Once bitten..twice shy' so to speak.0
