I clicked on refurbished on the index at the left and then desk tops and found this model.

I need to find out the definition of refurbished, usually they are returns etc!!

    Thanks OP.

my 11 year old wants one for Christmas, so obviously at this age I want to keep the price down (I want to keep the price down at any age!!!)

    Hi there'

All I can tell you is my medion P4 3.0 Ghz notebook was a refurb (£349 - where else on the web will you get anotebook with this speed of processor in a notebook)delivered within 2 days. It looks well built and brand new, no-one else's data on the hard disk, and it's been such a pleasure working on it after my steam powered Inspiron 2500.

If you get one, make sure you completely run down the battery so it can re-do it's recharging properly (I went for 2 weeks with it only charging 1%)

The computer has been really reliable, I've had mine for about a month now, not used the DVD-RW/CD-RW - a bit frightned to to be honest cos my last attempts on my old laptop were disasterous.

As far as whether these are returns, I think they are but you have to trust that they will be repaired/sorted properly and (I would think) so that the things aren't returned for a second time - the only thing missing when I got mine was the MS Works Disc and installation - which was sent Parceline to me within a couple of days of my phone call to them. Their technical help/customer service people could certainly teach some other firms a thing or two!

BTW, get used to the fan running a lot because the thing gets quite warm!

Can anyone explain this laptop being £100 more to get something free.

If you pay more for some one to add some thing, then how is that "FREE"
