Probs best to check with the office that you'll be giving notice with - I'm sure they would be able to help0

Have you got up to date passports?
The registry office where I am giving notice are accepting these instead of my birth certificate and change of name deed that I need as I must of had them to apply for the passportSealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

We needed to show orginal 'long' birth certs, which neither of us had but it was simple and reasonably cheap to get replacements from the registrars in the town we were born in.:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

If you don't have a passport then you need the long certificate with your parents names on. If you don't have it you can order them online: http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/0

As others have said if you need the full birth certicficates apply to the nearest regitser office to where you where born. they will be able to do certified copies for you. Current charge is £9 (although you may have to pay a same day service charge if you want it on the same day.
There is no actual original. They are all certified copies of the original entry in the register. The orginal stays with us in our register!0 -
Thanks for all your help. On the phone they said we needed a passport and birth cert each, so I think mine will be fine, just worried in case they want OH's orgininal (its a photocopy we've got) as its extra time and money.
I'll double check with them, as I'll be phoning up tomorrow to confirm the date:j0
