Getting the debt reduced

Hello everyone,

I have been working my way through the guides here to find out if some of my old debts are enforceable. I have found all of them to be none enforceable, however I do still want to pay them off because there is footprint in my credit file that was caused by them. Is there a letter which I can send that approaches the debt colelction agency and requests a payment plan but also highlights the fact that it is none enforceable and requests a reduction on the over value of the debt?

I may be way off base here but I was under the impression that if it was none enforceable then you would be in a position to request a reduced payment or settlement figure.

Yours faithfully.

I don't think there is a template to that effect no.

Usually people only look at enforceability if they are not too concerned about their credit file or it is already defaulted and there is little the creditor can do to make it worse.

I have heard of people still offering a settlement figure on a unenforceable debt - I guess using the F&F template letter and then adding in a paragraph about you being aware that is does not meet all the requirements etc.

Not sure of anyone who has continued to make regular payments after finding it unenforceable.

Thank you very much for the information. Although it is unenforceable I would like to get my credit file cleaned up and for that reason I am willing to repay them, I am just hoping that I can get a reduced rate.

i think it all depends as if they have already defaulted your account for any of the debts, repaying them will make no difference to your file unless part of your agreement is that you will only set up a repayment plan if they agree to remove the default

how successful that would be is anyones guess, if they havent defaulted then thats a different story
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
